Animal Agriculture Certificate
The certificate in Animal Agriculture requires 15 total credits, 12 of those are fixed and are the animal agriculture related classes which include AFE 211 Introduction to Animal Science, AFE 307 Animal Nutrition, AFE 309 Livestock Reproduction, and AFE 415 Livestock Production Practices. The other three credits are an economics and or marketing class, there are three to choose from either AFE 215 Agribusiness Management, AFE 426 Agriculture Econ. and Market, or ECO 201 Prin of Economics I. The certificate is designed to give students a strong understanding of the basic principles of animal production and management covering nutrition, reproduction, selection, and overall production practices. This certificate is available to any individual as a stand-alone certificate. Students within the AFE degree can complete this certificate as part of their overall degree program to indicate a strong animal related focus in their studies.
