Accreditations

Kentucky State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate of nursing practice level degrees. Kentucky State University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Kentucky State University remains committed to continuous improvement and institutional excellence. On December 7, 2025, the SACSCOC Board of Trustees placed the institution on Probation for Good Cause, providing a clear opportunity to strengthen our alignment with Standard 13.6 (Federal and state responsibilities) and reinforce our compliance efforts over the next 12 months (Letter from SACSCOC). A Special Committee has been authorized to visit the institution, allowing us to demonstrate the significant strides we are making as we move forward with transparency, responsibility, and a shared dedication to student and institutional success.
