Social Sciences – Sociology Track

To satisfy the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences with a track in Sociology, a student must complete a minimum of 120 semester credit hours, including 30 semester credit hours in sociology. The required courses are SOC 300 Statistics for BSS, SOC 301 Research Methods for BSS, SOC 304 Race and Ethnic Relations, SOC 305 Contemp Social Problems, SOC 403 Social Psychology, SOC 405 Sociological Theory, and SOC 499 Senior Colloquium. The student, in consultation with his or her advisor, must select an additional 9 semester credit hours of Sociology courses at the 300/400 level. Additionally, the student must complete a minor or an 18-hour sequence of 300/400 level interdisciplinary electives, and SOC 203 Principles of Sociology as part of the Liberal Studies Requirement.
